Coffee or Roasted Grain Beverage, what’s the difference?

Updated: Sep 13, 2019

Ohh bitter liquid of the gods!

We all know the delicious smell and taste of those brown beans that take us to heaven. Some of us, can’t even get our day started without them. So why would anyone think of switching to anything that’s not coffee? Well, I’m going to tell you a few reasons for you to consider trying and eventually switching from traditional coffee to Pioneer Roasted Beverage.

1. Caffeine is bad for you (yeah, really). Caffeine is the main energy inducing ingredient in coffee and other types of beverages, i.e. tea; and acts as a stimulant to the body by activating the nervous system. These effects can last up to 6 hours a day. Even though this sounds great, there are negative effects to caffeine. According to the Mayo Clinic, consuming more than 300mg of caffeine a day can cause side effects like:

  • Migraines

  • Insomnia

  • Nervousness

  • Irritability

  • Upset stomach

  • Restlessness

  • Frequent urination

  • Muscle tremors

  • Fast heartbeat

2. Roasted Grains has low acid. Caffeine is very acidic and increases the production of gastric acid to digest it. This can cause an inflammatory side effects that comes from conditions like Irritable Bowel Syndrome, heartburn or acid re-flux.

3. Pioneer Roasted Beverage tastes as good as the real thing. Really, it does. It is just as versatile as coffee when it comes to using it in creative ways like Frappuccino’s, milkshakes, iced drinks, coffee cakes, ice cream and anything with a strong roasted taste you can think of!

If you ever considered the idea of trying something caffeine-free (yuck decaf!) but still as delicious and versatile as coffee, this is your chance. Pioneer Roasted Beverage offers two different presentations: individual pods -perfect for your beloved Keurig- and good old grounds like traditional coffee and can be brewed just the same.
